press conference
For this morning we had a regional conference in the House share the Münsterstr. invited. Some newspapers from the region (WZ, NRZ, RP) had followed our invitation and sent a press. Of the Bodelschwinghschen stations in Bethel (near Bielefeld), a journalist was there, she wrote for "The Ring".
As part of the public relations of the IGL, we had created for the occasion, press kits, which we distributed to each of the press. In short individual interviews, we were able to tell the journalists of our model project. Some of the clients were interviewed in the terminal and asked about their impressions and experiences. Later, in a cozy Atmösphäre still a common exchange took place over coffee and instead of cake, which got the press on the part of the IGL staff, but especially by the clients even more valuable information.
This step in the public, we hope that it will firstly encourage other institutions to act in the sense of the people affected by disability and provide appropriate future offerings such as ours. The other is for people who have so far not heard of this form of a more independent life, a way to better future for these use safely.
We are now only one curious about how the reports will arrive on our project to the reader and whether we can do with other people courage to take the step into a self-determined future.
