The Yellow Mountains of Huang Shan Like millions of other avid travelers in China, we were out in the October holidays. Our destination was the unforgettable hundreds of years ago and described as incredibly beautiful mountains of Huang Shan
Yellow to the 72 peaks.
Huang Shan is the
Anhui Province, west of Shanghai. After 11 hours in the sleeper train we arrived at 6:40 clock Tun Xi. From there we were driven by bus to Huang Shan. An hour later we arrived there. After another short bus ride we arrived at the Mercy Light de cable car station. (Pictures to enlarge Please click on)
The first path led us to the Jade Screen Hotel
to check in. Then came the stairs going to our first goal. The aim was the Heavenly City 1810 meter high peak, or the Celestial Capital Peak
. This was, of course, by the more than 200 days a year prevailing fog somewhat cloudy. Nevertheless, we were a bit lucky for some pictures.
sees this as one of the pine trees growing everywhere, holding the even to the bare rock walls. Our path led to the summit via the "back of the carp (Carp's can backbone ") of which one Vorrausgesetzt right and left (good visibility) are looking a few hundred meters deep.
Passing more pine trees we continued up the stairs to the summit, where we then of course the sun and expected a clearing up as it should otherwise be different came ;-)
The surrounding mountains emerge from the clouds and gave us the truly amazing sight, even before the hundreds of years of Chinese geographer and has been traveling the Ming Dynasty, Xu Xiake
represented as indescribable He wrote in his travel records. "None of the mountains, the I've seen can compare to the Huangshan (Yellow Mountain). After you've climbed it, there is no need to look at another mountain. "And he might even be right.
The locks are purchased on one image of the people, engraved name and there appended. The story goes, who is divorced, has to go back there and remove the lock, which of course is about the hard ride worth considering ;-)
These 2 pictures are at a distance of only a minute arisen. The clouds came back as we made our pictures and quite quickly. It has really no time to enjoy the magnificent view, but what one does not forget you can see again. Unfortunately, we missed the famous sunset, as the clouds were not really willing to warp. The next morning the alarm clock rang 4:30 and unfortunately we tried in vain to enießen the sunrise. Again, only clouds and fog, visibility of less than 20 meters. Nevertheless, we were on our way to new peaks. After checking out the hotel was the wandering off again. Our first goal of the Lotus Peak, 1864 meters above sea level. But he was on the basis of Article 13 a regulation closed. In order to protect nature are the "Celestial Capital Peak "and" Lotus peak "alternate open.
We had the foot of the" Lotus Peak "a good outlook on our next destination, some mountains further north, the meteorological observation station. The meant to get off our hill and up the other hill, as was the day before, and also accompanied that day and also on the daily clouds and fog.
bizarre rock formations and also the steps we climb or descend all are needed to see the next images. The second picture shows the "head in the clouds." Some of these Stairs have a 70 degree slope and step height of 20-40 cm. Given the rather flat and sometimes lack of railings a fairly adventurous climbing, so this is probably only possible in China.
Again, the pine trees growing everywhere photographing, we were finally on to the next summit.
"Brightness Top" with 1860 meters of the 2nd highest mountain in Huang Shan gave us again a short clear view of surrounding mountains, as the "Flying Over Rock" (The rocks from the sky). Legend has it that this stone fell from the sky was. This rock is about 544 tonnes of heavy and has no connection to the bearing surface. He is like the whole mountain range of the Huang Shan mountains of coarse-grained granite.
In the background of the other image you can see the cable car station "White Goose Ridge Station" with cabins for 50 people driving into the valley. That's our next goal, past deep gorges and jagged rock formations.
With a last look at the "Flying Over Rock" and the clouds between the mountains gin back down through the thickest fog Seibahnstation. On the Web, I even had the camera , Pack up because the fog was so thick that it already was dripping from the trees.
In the valley we went by bus back to the station where the train clock 17:40 brought us back to Shanghai. 3:45 clock we reached almost slept Shanghai and 45 minutes later we arrived by taxi even at home.
